HAHN WINS NATIONAL SCHOLASTIC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP: Brick senior DeAnne Hahn was crowned an indoor national champion after her shot put of 46-feet, 8 1/4-inches in New York City on Friday. In other NSIC news, Craig Forys ran a 4:05.8 anchor leg of the distance medley as the Cougars finished fourth in 10:18.56. Monmouth Regional's boys 4x400 advanced into Sunday's final with the fourth-fastest seed time (3:21.14). Ocean's Georgina Nembhard advanced into Saturday semifinals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.62 and also ran a leg on the Spartans' third-place shuttle hurdle relay team.

FALCONS SOAR: Led by a pair of individual wins from Charles Cox, Monmouth repeated as Group II Boys Indoor Track and Field Champions. Cox won the 55 dash, 400, and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team. Also snagging individual gold were Red Bank senior Dennie Waite (1,600) and St. John Vianney senior Chris Favaloro (pole vault). TAKING THE SOUTHERN ROUTE - By Scott Clayton - Senior Staff Writer: All roads to indoor track success led through Southern Regional on Saturday, as the Rams' girls team (above, left) captured the Shore Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships title and two former Southern runners, Monmouth seniors Charles and Christopher Cox, led the Falcons to the boys title. The usual suspects led Southern's girls, as senior Danielle Tauro (above, right, #1, pictured winning the 800) and teammate Jillian Smith (#2) combined for three individual wins.

TAURO GOOD AS GOLD - By Scott Clayton - Senior Staff Writer: Danielle Tauro (above, in black) of Southern left the 10-runner field in the high school girls’ mile run at the 100th Millrose Games in her wake with a 4:52.81 win. Teammate Jillian Smith finished fourth in 4:54.35.

ANOTHER RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE BY TAURO: Southern senior Danielle Tauro won the New Balance Invitational high school girls mile on Saturday in a New York Armory-record time of 4:46.13, the fastest scholastic girls time in the indoor mile in the nation this season. Tauro's sophomore teammate, Jillian Smith, finished third in 4:55.27.
