3200 6:55PM SPLITSVarsityEveryone
is jogging at the gun. Swisko in the lead, but no one really wants to
go. 39 at the 200. Sullivan takes over at the 400 with Spencer in 2nd
and Jablonski in third, Swisko following in fourth. Relaxed 2:15 at the
800. Pagonis, Rowe also in the lead pack of seven. Still easy 3:47 at
the 1200. Jablonski moves up on Sullivan's shoulders and a couple of
elbows are thorwn around. 1600 is hit in 5:04 and the pace quickens
slightly. Very slightly. Well maybe not 38.6 at the next 200. Sullivan
gets about 3 meters on the pack and Rowe moves up into 2nd. Swisko
falling to the back of the lead pack. Jabonski losing contact. Spalding
has three runners in the top five at this point. Sullivan and Rowe has
put some distance on the field with Spencer in third and trying to
catch the top two with a long surge. The rest of the contenders have
fallen off the back of the pack. Spencer keeps gaining ground on the
top two, but Sullivan is starting to quicken the pace with a 400 to go.
Still with a 300 no real move, but at the 200 mark, Rowe looks to be
looking for his move. He makes it off the last turn. Looks like
Sullivan by a nose in 10:02.
