(Game Played Tuesday, April 22, 2008) - TERRE HAUTE, IN

NORTH SCORES LATE TO SEAL WIN OVER THE WARRIORS

Sophomore Andrew Gauer pitched the first four innings for the Patriots and did his job in leaving the game with a 4-4 score and the team from Terre Haute very much in the ballgame. Fellow sophomore Dougie Collett came through in the clutch with 3 hits in four at-bats, including 2 doubles, and 3 rbi. Another sophomore Parker Fulkerson picked up a pinch-hit single and later scored to help in the northside effort. Junior Jared Eller was 2-for-3 with 2 rbi, a walk, and 2 runs scored. J.T. Bailey (3-2), also a junior, pitched the final three innings of the game to pick up the win on the mound. Bailey's totals included 1 unearned run, 2 hits, 6 strikeouts, and no walks.

The little guys didn't have all the fun for the Patriots however. The seniors also had their opportunities to produce for Terre Haute North as well. Joe Meggs went 3-for-3 including a bunt basehit, an infield single in the hole at shortstop, and 3 runs scored. Brandon Dorsett added a sacrifice fly to pick up a RBI. Chad Wilguess moved runners along with a sacrifice bunt and a base on balls. Andrew Bledsoe played aggressively in the outfield. And Mark Merrill scored two runs after reaching first base on a walk and following an infield error.

Terre Haute North is now 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference. The Patriots will play host to the Avon Orioles Thursday, April 24, 2008. First pitch is set to be thrown at 5:30pm.
