Eight different Panthers scored at least one goal as the defending SMAC-champion Patuxent Panthers recorded their fifth straight shutout to open the field hockey season with an 11-0 win over Westlake on Wednesday afternoon.
Scoring twice were Lauren Bartley, Lauren Schumacher and Hannah McGreevy. Taylor Courtney, Kate Nolan, Taylor Fleegle, Danielle Gilbert and Erica Wiltse scored once each.
Patuxent (5-0, 5-0) should get a test in its next game next Wednesday, as it is scheduled to play host to county-rival Calvert.
