- Scott opened the meeting with the treasures report.
- Scott discussed old business: Super 22 banquet report, 7 on 7 and Big Man jamborees......great job and we will continue this format again.
- The 12th Annual Baltimore Touchdown Club Senior All-Star Football Game will be played on Saturday December 6th, 2008 at McDaniel College in Carroll County. The school wanted to charge more for us to hold the game there but Dave Dolch & Scott Ripley talked to them about keeping the price the same.
- New business: BTC attended members was in favor of attending the AFCA Coaches trip to Tennessee.
- Doug, Scott and Dave talked about the MD State Crab Bowl game(12/20/08) and what we are going to do about having players playing in this game & our game
- Digital Sports has once again agreed to be our primary media link and sponsor.
- Coach Kenneth Hovet of Marriotts Ridge has been selected to be the HEAD COACH for the METRO TEAM.
- Coach Russ Meyers of Southern HS, A.A. County has been selected to be the HEAD COACH for the BALTIMORE TEAM.

- Doug Duvall & Joe Bosley discussed the state meeting that was held on March 9 at Hammond High.
Current membership for the 2009 / 2010 football seasons is 44 Schools. 365 people attended this year’s All Star banquet. The cost of the facility at M&T Bank Stadium continues to rise. If we become priced out of this facility, Coach James Franklin suggested the use of the new President’s Suite in Tyser Tower at Byrd Stadium.
******Junior Combine:
Junior Combine will be held at M&T Bank Stadium.
Date of the combine will be, March 28, 2009
Workers should arrive no later then 7:00AM and park in Lots D/E; on the side away from the Johnny Unitas Statue.
Lunch will NOT be provided this year. Bring your own food.
We will have three rolling sessions:
** Session 1 (8:00AM): Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County, Harford County, and Carroll County
** Session 2 (10:00AM): Frederick County, PG County, & Montgomery County
** Session 3 (12:00PM): The rest of the state and WALK-UP for NON-REGISTERED athletes.
Please make certain your athletes know when they are to arrive at M&T Bank Stadium. Please check the rolling arrival times and insist that your athletes arrive at their scheduled time. Otherwise, there will be long periods of time while your athletes sit in the stadium waiting to get on to the field.

The cost of using the M&T Bank Stadium is $3,400.00. The MFCA is only making about $1,600.00 on this combine.

Will be held this year at M&T Bank Stadium on May 17, 2009 at 9:00AM. The NATS combine is affiliated with AFCA.
The cost for each athlete remains $55.00, There will be two sessions.
** Session 1: 9:00-11:00 AM
** Session 2: 1:00-3:00 PM
We will invite the top 600 athletes in a variety of events from the Junior Combine.

We want to get approximately 400 athletes. We really need the HS coaches to push this event as it is one of the few events that produce revenue for the MFCA.

University of Maryland, Coach James Franklin, Dave Sollazzo, & Ryan Steinberg attended the meeting in order to reestablish ties with the MFCA. Coach Franklin was adamant about trying to repair any damage done between the Terps football program and the high schools. He asked on numerous occasions to contact him directly if coaches had any concerns about any perceived or real “wrong doings” on the part of the UMD football staff. Coach Franklin reiterated that the Football Staff is available to high school coaches at all times. He invited coaches to spring practice, position meeting, to watch cut-ups. All you have to do is ask and they will try to accommodate your request.

University of Maryland Spring Practice Begins – March 24. Practices will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 to 9:30 and on Saturday mornings at 10:00AM. ****** Poor Man’s Football Clinic is a MAYBE!!
Joe Russo is proposing to put together a Poor Man’s Football Clinic. The clinic is tentatively scheduled for May 3rd. The location MAY be Cedar Lane in Columbia. The idea is to charge coaches $5.00 (or so) and provide a first rate clinic, AND all the food and beer you can consume.

- Scott covered the Crab Bowl situation:
Currently Chuck Harmon stated that the Crab Bowl players cannot play in another All Star game. The BTC officers will contact Chuck to clarify this matter. If this is true, the BTC will draw the line on membership in determining whether any of our players will participate in the Crab Bowl. Chuck Harmon also stated the he was exploring two possible dates for his game. One of which is the same day we host or game. The BTC supports another All Star game only if it promotes high school football in Maryland. If Harmon continues to cause conflict, the BTC will not support his game. He is also looking for an alternate site other than Towson University. Towson is requesting too much money and the 2008 game is still in the red.
- BTC 7on7 passing jamboree & big man clinic to be held at St. Paul’ School July 11th from 8am until 4pm. 7on7 has a 16 team format and price will be depends on insurance policy quote, for more information please see Scott Ripley(director) and Big man information will be Coach Marc Mesaros- Eastern Tech.
- Coach Mesaros will be contact some coaches to work the big man’s jamboree
- Price will be TBA around $10 to $15 range for the campers with each camper receiving a T-Shirt. There will be a guest speaker as well. Big Man jamboree will start about 9am until 12noon.
- Super 22 Banquet has about 350 people attending as of this day. All players and Adult award winners have been notified. Only 3 outstanding hall of fame bio’s are needed. No responses from St. Mary’s Mark McNeal and St. John’s Prep E. Fergerson. If we receive no responses, both schools will not be able to participate in the All Star game this fall. –
- College Film night will be held at Cardinal Gibbons 6pm on May 4th. Food will be provided. Coach Sean Murphy(Curley) & Coach Marc Mesaros will notify college coaches via e-mail regarding the time & location. At present we have 63 highlight tapes out of the 72 players honored. Coach Mesaros will bring 2 5 bin recording towers and Coach Ripley will contact TAG Andre Baldwin to help assist in the recording of the tapes. Coaches are request to attend to man their league tables. The BTC is hoping to have a nice turnout .

- Scott made the announcement that Dave Dolch the BTC’s 1st VP will be resigning as of today and that the BTC elected Mike Whittles as the new 2nd VP and promoted Scott Ripley to the 1st VP………ALL(membership) was in favor

a. Super 22 in review….proof read the programs(needing more coaches to assist), film night was a great turnout and kudos to the organization for pulling it all together. The Banquet will be held at the same time next year.
b. All Star game update will be held at McDaniel College again Dec. 5th

Keion is working to bring a Football Camp ages 8-17 to the area on June 28 until July 2 with football skills camp and mentoring program(life skills) with the focus on getting more involved in the community with will be held on Towson University campus with start time at 8am until 3:45pm and July 2nd will be dismiss at 2pm after the awards. They will also like to give away 50 scholarships. Also they will kickoff the camp with a PROS vs. JOES game(date: June 27, location: Poly Tech High time:10:00am to 12noon tailgating with 12noon until 12:45pm autograph session and at 1pm the PROS vs. JOES kickoff). University of Maryland, Coach James Franklin, Dave Sollazzo, & Ryan Steinberg attended the meeting in order to reestablish ties with the MFCA. Coach Franklin was adamant about trying to repair any damage done between the Terps football program and the high schools. He asked on numerous occasions to contact him directly if coaches had any concerns about any perceived or real “wrong doings” on the part of the UMD football staff. Coach Franklin reiterated that the Football Staff is available to high school coaches at all times. He invited coaches to spring practice, position meeting, to watch cut-ups. All you have to do is ask and they will try to accommodate your request.

Coach Tom Rogish asserted that he is trying to reestablish ties with every high school in Maryland. He and his staff made a concerted effort to get in every HS in Maryland this Winter/Spring. Please contact Coach Rogish if he has missed your school and/or you have a player he should be interested in pursuing at tjrogish@frostburg.edu
