*Rankings as of April 30
1. Landon (15-3/LW 2)
For the first time in any of the players’ careers, Landon beat Prep. Landon is now in the driver’s seat to defend its IAC crown.
2. Georgetown Prep (16-2/LW 1)
A brutal loss for the Little Hoyas after coming from four goals behind to tie the game but Prep can still make up ground in the IAC tournament.
3. DeMatha (12-6/ LW 8)
The Stags move way up in the poll after beating St. Albans, 9-4. DeMatha finished the year winning seven of their last nine with losses to Landon and Prep by a combined six goals in the middle.
4. St. Albans (12-5-1/LW 3)
Bulldogs need to rebound after losing to DeMatha.
5. St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (11-5/LW 5)
If there’s one team nobody else in the IAC wants to see in the playoffs it’s the Saints. They have pulled off shockers the past two years in beating Georgetown Prep.
6. Wootton (12-0/LW 6)
Perhaps the final test of the regular season comes Thursday against Sherwood (9-1).
7. Huntingtown (9-1/LW 7)
Hurricanes are undefeated against public schools.
8. Chantilly (9-1/LW NR)
The Chargers’ only loss came against St. Albans in an out-of-league game. The defending VHSL champs have quality wins over Robinson and Herndon and have rolled since the loss.
9. St. Mary’s Ryken (10-3-1/LW NR)
The Knights got a pair of big wins this past week over Gonzaga and Paul VI by a combined three goals. They seem to be DeMatha’s main challenger in the upcoming WCAC playoffs.
10. Langley (11-1/LW 4)
The Saxons first beat W.T. Woodson by a goal then lost a heartbreaker to Madison on a behind-the-back goal that forced overtime, where the Warhawks won.
