There were
no team titles, but there were plenty of strong performances by Hoosier
Heritage Conference teams in sectional action Thursday evening. One of the
highlights of the evening was the second place finish of Delta in the Muncie
Central Sectional. The Eagles amassed 108 points in besting everyone except Jay
County.
At Mt.
Vernon, the hosts place a strong second behind Anderson Highland with a total
of 112.5 points. Pendleton Heights was right behind in third with 97.5, and
Yorktown was fourth with 79.
The three
southern schools in the league feed into the Warren Central Sectional and
acquitted themselves quite well. New Palestine totaled 80.5 points in placing
third behind Warren Central and Franklin Central. Greenfield-Central was fifth
with 46 points, and Shelbyville ended sixth with 33.
