STASAKOVA LEADS JOHN CARROLL IN BULL RUN
|
Erika Stasakova of John Carroll, perhaps the top contender for the IAAM individual cross country title, competed extremely well on a state-wide stage, yesterday, as she placed fourth in the Girls Elite Division of the Hereford Bull Run.
Stasakova finished in 20:01 to lead the Patriots to a sixth place team effort. The Patriots also got a top 10 performance from Nicole Clarke, who ran ninth (20:29). John Carroll was the only IAAM team in the Elite Division.
The IAAM had no entries in the Large and Medium School divisions, but five teams from the Association competed in the Small Schools Division.
The Institute of Notre Dame's Emma Rybczynski was the top IAAM runner in this race, as she claimed 3rd place, followed by Katie Sacker of Seton Keough (4th) and IND teammate Sarah Steinmetz (5th). IND and Seton Keough finished 4th and 5th, respectively, in the team competition, but Maryvale Prep topped both with a 3rd place effort.
The Lions were led by Katie Matuszak (10th), Rachel Nerenberg (11th) and Kelsey Matuszak (13th).
Bryn Mawr (10th), Archbishop Spalding (12th), which got a 6th place finish from Claire Patterson, and Oldfields (23rd), also represented the IAAM in the race.
