They say that "defense wins
championships." If that's the case, then top-seed McDonogh would be on the
fast-track to the IAAM B-Conference field hockey title this year.
The Eagles earned the top
seed after going 12-1-1 on the season, good for sole possession of first place. McDonogh's
defense allowed just six goals, the lowest in the league, and never allowed
more than one goal in any contest.
John Carroll (10-3-1) grabbed the #2 seed. The Patriots led the league
until hitting a tough stretch late in the season that saw them lose three in a
row, two of those in-league, and lose the battle for first-place.
