For the third time in four years Archbishop Curley won the team title at the Lock Haven (PA) Bald Eagle Invitational, yesterday. This gives the Friars 2008 inviational victories in Delaware, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Curley scored 123 points, outdistancing itself from second place Jersey Shore and 15 other schools.
The Friars, who are 3-0 in the MIAA A Conference, will compete in the 4x100 and 4x400 at next week's world famous Penn Relays, before returning to Baltimore, the following week, for dual meet battle with Gilman, which will likely determine the regular season A Conference champion.
Eric Franklin led the way at Loch Haven, with victories in the 110 HH and 300 IH. George Chambers also claimed an individual title with a meet record 50.10 in the 400. Chambers also placed third in the 200 and joined Franklin, Airron Wigins and Byron Branch in placing second in the 4x200.
In addition, Jerome Junior won the long jump (21-7.5) and finished second in the high jump, while Chris Sonin took third in the shot put. The Friars also scored well in the 100, where Tyler Cuomo took third and Junior placed fourth.
