Anthony DeSclafani, Sr., RHP - Colts Neck

A two-time, first-team selection and the only repeat selection from last year, DeSclafani went 7-1 with a 1.44 ERA and 81 strikeouts and only seven walks in 58 1/3 innings. A hard-throwing righty whose fastball is in the low 90s, DeSclafani was recently selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 22nd round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft and will decide on either going pro or taking his scholarship and pitching at the University of Florida. He finished his career with school records for wins (25), ERA (1.45), and strikeouts (303). DeSclafani also was no slouch with the bat, hitting .390 with 9 doubles, 3 homers, 20 runs scored and 20 RBIs to help the Cougars win their second straight Class A North public title. As a junior, he went 8-2 with a 1.73 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 60 2/3 innings.
