Cleary was part of a CBA defense that extremely tough to score against. The Colts allowed just 13 goals against Shore Conference teams on their way to re-capturing the SCT title, their third in four years. Tenacious and aggressive, Cleary was a key component of the Colts' zone defense that also played well against some of the top offenses in the state. The junior also got involved in man-up situations and scored four goals and five assists.
