Hamilton Heights tallies 2 goals on the second half to secure a 5-2 win over Northwestern.  With the win, Hamilton Heights locked up its ninth straight conference title and has yet to be beat in conference play since joining the MIC.

From the beginning, Heights dominated time of possession the entire first half.  First blood was drawn in the 10th minute when Kate Hunter struck a low ball from just outside the box in the lower right corner of the net to put the Lady Huskies up 1-0.  Taylor Carl then dropped a beautiful shot over Northwestern’s goaltender’s head in the 18th minute and the lead grew to two goals.  Northwestern had very few chances in the first half but when opportunity knocked Sarah Lubben pounced.  A scramble in front of the goal after NW’s Barnett sent the ball in front of the net resulted in a goal for the Lady Tigers and a concussion for goaltender Danielle Duvall.  Kate Hunter collected her second goal and a Heights lead of 3-1 at halftime.

The halftime talk from coach Paul Crook must have been a good one because the Lady Tigers came out aggressive.  Northwestern pressured Heights for the first 17 minutes of the second half capped off by a dandy header by Kayla Priday from a crossing pass from Annelise Tarkington to cut the lead to 3-2. The rally would be shorted lived as Hamilton Heights put two more balls on the net in the next 11 minutes to put things away at 5-2.  Jesse Culp and Taylor Carls’ second goal was the final nails in the Tiger coffin.

Heights takes the conference at 6-0 and 11-3-1 overall record and Northwestern finishes 5-1 in league play and 12-3 overall.
