BROWNSBURG - Zionsville's fourth-ranked girls soccer team did what it needed to do on October 8 at Brownsburg, defeating the host #17 Bulldogs 1-0 to give themselves a shot at securing a piece of the 2008 Hoosier Crossroads Conference title.

Unfortunately for the Eagles though, #2 Noblesville also did what it needed it do to make sure Zionsville would not garner a piece of the championship, downing #15 Westfield by the same score of 1-0.

Zionsville finished conference play this season at 7-0-2. Meanwhile, Noblesville ended its conference schedule with one less tie, at 8-0-1 to claim its sixth straight league title.

Zionsville scored the game's only goal in the first half on a corner kick from junior Kasey McKenney.

Make sure you check out the video highlights from this game, which can be found in this article, to watch McKenney's goal!

Brownsburg though had several golden opportunities to draw even in the second half, but Zionsville's junior goal keeper Kristin Haseley made some remarkable saves to keep the Bulldogs off the scoreboard.

You can watch an interview with Haseley by clicking play on the bottom video player in this article! In the interview, Haseley talks about the team's defensive performance against Brownsburg, in addition to the team's sectional draw.

That draw by the way, puts the Eagles (12-0-5) up against conference rival Fishers (4-10-2) in the opening round of the Hamilton Southeastern Sectional on October 14.

Zionsville defeated Fishers 3-0 back on October 1.
