Junior basketball phenom Briana Brown is featured in “Faces in the Crowd,” a weekly section of Sports Illustrated magazine. Briana is the Vikings all-time points leader, and has scored more than 1,500 points in her high school career. She says the recognition by Sports Illustrated feels great.
“I’ve worked really hard,” she said, “but it’s amazing to be recognized like this.” Briana said the national recognition doesn’t place additional pressures on her shoulders. “I have to keep pushing. I always deal with pressure. I’m used to it.”

For next year Briana is focused on hitting the 2,000 point mark. But for the remainder of this season, she is focused on leadership. “I want to keep working on encouraging my teammates. That’s what I’m working on.”
