Severna Park High School senior Pat Morrison met with University of Maryland lacrosse coach Dave Cottle on Wednesday to discuss the possibility of playing for the Terrapins next year, Morrison's father, Pat Sr., said.

"He made an offer to Patrick for lacrosse," the elder Morrison said. "Said they really want him to be part of the team. We've got some talking to do in order to make a final decision by early next week."

Morrison finished with 20 goals and nine assists for the Falcons (16-3) this past spring during their run to the Class 4A-3A state semifinals. He scored three goals to lift his team to a 10-7 win over South River in the Anne Arundel County championship on May 6.

Morrison sat out his junior year to focus on football but earned significant playing time for the lacrosse team as a sophomore when Severna Park won the state championship.

"Basically, Pat played well for us this year and a lot of college coaches saw him play," Falcons lacrosse coach Larry Kramer said. "Athletically, he's a there in terms of Division I. He took off his junior year but look what he did this past season. If he played as a junior, he would have been unstoppable."

During the winter, Morrison committed to play football at Wagner College. Last fall, Morrison played both ways -- he was a two-year starter at quarterback and was a lock-down defensive back. The team captain rushed for 689 yards and eight touchdowns. He went 75-for-110 passing for 1,287 yards and nine touchdowns.

"Pat is one heck of an athlete," Falcons football coach J.P. Hines said. "He was highly instrumental in our team's success."

Pat Morrison Sr. said that if his son chooses Maryland, he may try to walk-on to the football team and that it was a topic of discussion during the meeting with Cottle.

"Not sure if that would work out, but it's nice that he is willing to help on both fronts," Morrison Sr. said.
