GREENE SCORES SIX IN USA U-19 BASKETBALL UPSET OF CHINA

Recent Towson Catholic graduate Donte Greene, limited somewhat by foul trouble, contributed six points in 15 minutes of action as the U.S. Men's U-19 National Basketball Team shocked the Chinese National Team, 91-75, in an exhibition game yesterday in Dallas.

All six of Greene's points came from the three-point line as he hit of 2-of-4 shots from beyond the arc while coming of the bench for the Americans.  He also collected four rebounds and had two assists.

China's 7'-6" NBA star Yao Ming did not play in the contest, as expected, but the Chinese still fielded an outstanding team, including Yi Jianlian, the sixth overall selection in last week's NBA Draft.

Greene, who will attend Syracuse in the fall, is one of only four players on the U.S. team with no college experience.

The U.S. Team will remain in Dallas this week where it will host the 2007 Global Games on Thursday and Friday, as it continues to prep for the 2007 FIBA U-19 World Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia (July 12-22).
