| Archbishop Spalding's
Marybeth Herrick has signed a national letter of intent to play her college
softball for at Towson University. A first team All-Anne Arundel County
selection as a junior, Herrick has helped Spalding win back-to-back IAAM A
Conference championships.
Last season, Herrick batted .347 and led the
Cavaliers with 18 runs batted in. A .326 career hitter, she helped the Cavaliers
reach the 2006 IAAM championship game with a game-winning double in the
semifinals. A four-year starter at Spalding, she has seen action at second base
and the outfield. She has also been a standout for the Wagner�??s Club Team and
batted .368 last season.
Herrick is the daughter of Neal and Cindy
Herrick of Severn. Neal played baseball for the University of Maryland. Marybeth
is also the niece of Jeff Herrick, a Towson University graduate who played
baseball and football for the Tigers and is currently the head football coach
for Broadneck High School.
