Trivia question: Who owns the longest current winning streak in Division 5?

Answer: E. Other.

Washington-Lee has won four games in row after being shut out in three of its first four games. Three of those wins are since senior running back David Roddy returned to the lineup from a preseason, off-the-field injury.

He has 23 carries for 225 yards -- 9.8 per carry -- in that time. He's had gains of 50 or more yards in each game, including an 85-yard kickoff return touchdown that claimed the game against Stuart.

Last week, Edison suffered its first district loss in 20 games against National competition, 16-14, to Falls Church at home.

Eagle senior running back Angus Harper gained 216 rushing yards and scored twice, bringing his total to 957 yards and 12 scores in the last five games.

But Edison only completed one pass -- to Harper -- for nine yards on eight attempts with two interceptions. The offense was painfully one-dimensional in the rain.

The forecast calls for a 60-percent chance of showers at kickoff. And with the game on FieldTurf in Rosslyn, it won't be postponed, so they have to perform better in wet weather.

The Eagles have won 11-straight in this series, including the last 10 by a collective 392-27. That's an average of 36.5 points per game.

For Washington-Lee to get its first win over Edison since 1997, look for junior speedster Anthony Taylor to have a huge night. Taylor rolled up 286 all-purpose yards on 26 touches last week with two rushes touchdowns, both over 40 yards. Expect an impact game, but more civilized numbers against the second-ranked defense in Division 5.

The Eagles need to force the Generals to sustain drives by limiting Taylor's 20-plus-yard carries. Also, they need to get senior athlete Chris Washington involved.

He was held without a reception last week for the first time since Week 8 of 2008.
