For the third time in two weeks, the rain has forced another cancellation for the Atholton Raiders. The Mike Lacey tournament, which was originally slated to be played at 10:00 this morning with participants Bel Air and Patterson Mill, has been cancelled. No make-up will be scheduled.

Atholton stands at 6-1, winning five straight games and coming off a shut-out victory over Patapsco. Sophomore Kory Britton pitched a no-hitter into five innings to go with two hits and two RBIs from the plate. The no-hitter was the first to be pitched by an Atholton Raider since 2005.

The Raiders will play the River Hill Hawks (2-3) in their next contest. River Hill lost 6-0 in their last game against the county powerhouse Hammond Bears when Danny Wissman pitched a five-inning shut-out before the game was shortened by the weather. The Hammond Bears now sit at the top of the division with a 7-0 record.

In the week to follow Atholton will play four games in four days, with a make-up of their game against Glenelg (4-2) to be played on April 16th. The Raiders will also take on the Howard Lions (1-5) and the Vikings of Mount Hebron (2-4). Atholton has a good chance of increasing their win streak to nine games in the stretch, as the four teams combine for only a 9-14 record.
