Leesburg (May 12, 2009) - Heritage High School Brenton Peters is headed for the Ivy League next year as the Pride shortstop will play baseball at NCAA Division I Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
Peters has quarterbacked the Heritage attack for three years.
Said Pride coach Ryan Price when nominating him for the College Vision Student Athlete of the Month in March 2009: "Senior Brenton Peters has a .970 fielding percentage and has turned two double plays. He is batting .462 on the year, with five doubles and a triple. He has an onbase percentage of .500, and a slugging percentage of .731. He has also stolen four bases on the season. He is hitting .625 with runners in scoring position. Brenton has over a 4.0 GPA."
Peters said he will major in politcal science at Cornell and expects to pursue a career in law.
