Former DeMatha soccer standouts are continuing their success in college and in the pros.

Chris Hegngi, 1st Team All Met, and last year's WCAC Player of the Year, led his Ohio State Buckeyes to a 2-1 victory over Butler with 2 goals September 18.
Chris Hegngi and Joshua Breto teamed up to lead the Ohio State men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Butler Friday evening at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Hegngi tallied both goals off assists from Breto, leading the Buckeyes to a 3-0-2 mark on the season and handing the Bulldogs their first loss of the year at 4-1-0.

Drew Yates, WCAC Player of the Year in 2005, who led DeMatha to a 23-0 record that year and #2 NSCAA national ranking, scored with 1:22 remaining in regulation to salvage a 1-1 tie as the No. 4 Maryland men's soccer team embarked on its first road trip of the 2009 season at No. 23 North Carolina State September 19.

Andrew Quinn, who captained the DC United youth team defeating Manchester United and who led DeMatha to a top NSCAA national ranking in 2004, is the starting goaltender at Notre Dame. In a game September 9th, #10 Notre Dame tied #3 Wask Forest 1-1. A diving save from Notre Dame senior goalkeeper
Andrew Quinn was needed on a shot from Justin Lichtfuss with just over 11 minutes left in the first half. Quinn made another diving stop four minutes later to negate a Demon Deacon shot.

Jordan Graye, United States National Team member and All-Met, is a starting defender for #2 North Carolina. On September 18th, North Carolina turned in a strong defensive effort in a 2-1 win over No. 11 Duke.

Former DeMatha goalkeeper Bill Hamid, United States Youth National Team and All-Maryland high school standout, recently signed with DC United to compete in Major League Soccer (MLS) play. He is the first player to sign with the first team directly from United’s academy youth system.

DeMatha Alums Drew Yates of National Champion Maryland and North Carolina Jordan Graye quite literally went head to head September 25th in a repeat of the National Championship game, at College Park, Maryland, in front of a record 7,000 crowd and a national viewing audience on Fox Soccer Channel.
4th ranked Maryland defeated 2nd ranked North Carolina 1-0.
