Looking
for yet another big IAAM A-Conference field hockey win, Archbishop Spalding
came up short yesterday, falling to No. 6 Garrison Forest, 3-0, as the
Grizzlies avenged an earlier loss to the Cavaliers.
With
the win, Coach Traci Davis?? Garrison squad improved to 8-1-1 in league and 10-1-1 overall. Bryn Mawr kept pace in the tight ??A? race
with a 1-0 win over Severn, as the two front-runners
remained tied at the top of the standings, both now with 25 points.
The
Cavaliers, now 6-4 (18 points), are used to pulling off big wins. Both Garrison
and Bryn Mawr have only one loss apiece, and both of those losses have come at
the hands of Archbishop Spalding.
The
Cavaliers defeated the Grizzlies, 2-1, back on September 14, and posted a huge 2-0 win over Bryn mawr last week, but Coach Leslee
Brady??s team came up short yesterday, unable to light up the scoreboard, and
unable to contain the Garrison offense.
