Ranked 12th in the DigitalSports Top 20, Glenelg is 9-0 against the league heading into Friday night's game opposite visiting league rival Reservoir, which is 7-2 against the county and 10-3 overall.
The Gators must defeat the Gladiators, and hope that the Mustangs (7-2, 10-2) lose to winless Long Reach (0-10) -- also a game to be played on Friday night -- in order to earn a rematch with Glenelg in the county title game.
That would drop the Mustangs to 7-3 in league play, and the Gators would rise to 8-2 in the county.
A win for both means that the Mustangs and the Gators would each be at 8-2 in league play, but the Mustangs would get the nod over the Gators by virtue of their head-to-head, 12-4 victory.
Glenelg won last year's Class 3A-2A state title, but has been reclassified into the Class 2A-1A this season based on enrollment.
