Brian Casey scored three goals and assisted on a fourth, and Kevin McCormick, Max Hart and Sean Taylor scored once each as Georgetown Prep of Rockville came from behind to defeat St. Paul's of Brooklandville, 6-3, in boys lacrosse on Friday afternoon.


The Little Hoyas (7-1) were victorious in a game that was statistically even, throughout, holding a 20-19 edge in shots, a 34-31 advantage in ground balls, and trailing, 7-6, in faceoffs.

The Crusaders (1-4) played a strong first half, after which they led, 2-1. But in the third quarter, the Little Hoyas capitalized, scoring three straight times for a lead of 4-2 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Crusaders scored to make it 4-3 with just over six minutes left in the game, but the Little Hoyas scored the last two goals to secure the victory.

The Crusaders' goalie, Harry Krieger, had 13 saves behind his defense of  Peter Windsor, Scott Matthews, Jake Fradkin, Chris Wilson, Gordy Long and Mike Faby.


The Crusaders' goals were scored by sophomores Alex Chay, Zach Linkous and Pat Powderly, with Powderly and senior Ty Feeley adding assists.

Faby and Peter Smyth combined to give the Crusaders' an advantage of 7-6 in faceoffs.
