Jim Busick has been the Varsity tennis coach at Gilman for 30 years. During that span, his charges have won 10 A-Conference titles,
the last two coming in '06 and '07.  Even though he says this season's team is young, he has them winning consistently again. After
three matches against Boys Latin, St.Paul's, and Loyola, this year's squad is 3-0, and hasn't lost an individual match. The Greyhounds extended their three-year winning streak to 20 on Tuesday with a 5-0 win over Loyola at Blakefield  .

"We play a freshman number one  (Michael Katz), and we're young overall," said Busick, "but we'll improve as the year progresses."

Busick mentioned Reed Cornish, who played #1 for three years at Princeton, and Ted Kelly, who plays #5 at Stanford this season, as
two of the best to have ever played for him at Gilman.

"I started playing tennis when I was five years old," said Katz.  "It's great to be able to play #1 for Coach as a freshman."

The Greyhounds expect stiff competition from McDonogh, where they will play on April 17.
