The No. 7 Bryn Mawr Mawrtians shut out the No. 8 Archbishop Spalding Cavaliers today, 1-0 in an IAAM A conference match up to advance to a record of 9-2-1 and continue a successful season.
The only goal of the game was scored early, with over 25 minutes left in the first half. Junior Evie Freeman opened the game big for Bryn Mawr with a goal assisted by junior Paige Hanson. The Mawrtians spent the rest of the game trying to increase their lead, taking 18 shots on goal, none of which could get passed Spalding goalie Ciarra Delost.
Spalding took three shots on goal, but was more efficient defending their own territory, as they held Bryn Mawr to its single first half point.
Abby Brisbee had five saves in goal for Bryn Mawr, while Delost had 13 for the Cavaliers.
