Ryan McFarland was 18-4 in games played against St. Mary's, St. Vincent Pallotti and St. John. In the regular season finale, McFarland held off a challenge from Archbishop Curly's #1 singles, to post a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
Joey Henault posted a perfect 24-0 record in his final four regular season matches. Sammy Larson went 24-10 to earn wins in all four matches. Pat O'Friel and Benton Davies continued their undefeated season with wins in each of their matches. The doubles team of Stephen Hartig and Matt Laukatis dominated their opponents and compiled a 24-2 record in games played.
Spalding Head Coach Jim Lopez takes a balanced team into the conference tournament. Cavaliers freshman Ryan McFarland and Joey Henault at the #1 and #2 singles positions will be playing in their first MIAA tournament. The balance of the starting rotation brings plenty of talent and tournament experience. Senior Sammy Larson has been rock solid at #3 singles. Senior Co-Captains Pat O'Friel and Stephen Hartig each have tournament experience as do their respective doubles partners, Benton Davies and Matt Laukatis. Spalding Assistant Coach Zach Miller, also has considerable MIAA tournament experience as a former player on the squad. The Cavaliers hope that it will all add up to a Conference Championship, but know that they are likely to face talented opponents seeking to knock off a #1 seed.
