Gowanda Central School honors winter sport award recipients. The 2009 most valuable players were as follows:  Aaron Benton- Varsity Basketball, Melanie Schott –Varsity Basketball, Dylan Swartz- Varsity Bowling, Brandy Lesefske-Varsity Bowling, Joe Sterns-Varsity Wrestling, David Richter – Varsity Bowling, Kris Kruszka – JV Basketball, Hailey Lipinski- JV Basketball, James Hammond- JV Wrestling.

 

Ethan Johnson was selected as the Varsity Male Sportsman. Brendan Omicioli and Aaron Benton were selected as the Varsity Male Scholar Athletes. Ethan and Brendan are members of the Varsity Wrestling squad.  Aaron is a member of the Varsity Basketball team. Melissa Budziszewski was selected as the Varsity Female Scholar Athlete and Taylor Edington was awarded the Varsity Sportsmanship Award.  Melissa is a member of the Varsity Bowling team and Taylor is a member of the Varsity Basketball team.  Hailey Lipinski was the recipient of the JV Scholar Award and Katie Stang was the recipient of the JV Female Sportsmanship Awards. Both are members of the JV Basketball team. Zach Steever received the JV Scholar Athlete Award and Jesse Gens received the JV Sportsmanship Award.  Zach is a member of the JV Basketball team and Jesse is a member of the JV Wrestling team. Congratulations to all Winter Sport Athletes.
