After getting crushed 10-4 just four days earlier Heathwood rebounded and defeated the Augusta Christian Lions 8-7 on Friday.
The game was played at Heathwood Hall because inclement weather made Augusta Christian's field unplayable.
After two scoreless innings the highlanders were the first to get on the board with three runs in the top of the third.
The eager lion's squad answered and took the lead in the bottom of the inning scoring four runs.
Both teams added two runs in the fourth inning and Augusta Christian added an additional run in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-5 lead.
Chris Leventes struggled on the mound giving up seven earned runs and seven hits in his three innings, however he contributed to the win by getting two RBI's.
Coach Farr called Whit Hensley to take the mound in the fourth inning. Hensley impressed the crowd by giving up one hit and striking out seven batters in his 3 1/3 innings.
It seemed the improved pitching is what the highlander's bats needed.
Heathwood scored three more runs in the fifth and held the lions scoreless for the rest of the game to take a 8-7 victory.
When asked how he thought the game went Coach Farr summed it up briefly saying, "We won...somehow."
Senior Davis Ray went 3-4 with an RBI, and junior Morgan Whalen went 1-3 with two RBI's.
Melton Bristow closed the game out striking out one, and Hensley got the win.
The victory adds to Heathwood's already great season.
The highlanders improve to 8-1 (5-1) and look to defeat Wilson Hall today.
