After a must-win game against rival Hammond last Wednesday, Heathwood's varsity girls' soccer team will face another Skyhawk battle Friday.

Te tiebreaker game will take place at neutral site Cardinal Newman as both teams battle for third place in Region II-3A.

With a season of highs and lows, the Highlanders enter the tiebreaker having played their best soccer yet during their last three games.

They defeated SCISA third lace ranked Cardinal Newman 2-0 April 23rd, Augusta Christian 11-0 Monday, and Hammond 3-1 on Wednesday.

Two of Heathwood's three goals came from Lydia Ware.

She also assisted Ceceilia Depre-Bixio on the highlanders' third goal.

The Skyhawks enter Friday having lost three of their last four games; their lone win coming against (5-9-1) A.C. Flora.

Highlander Coach Curtis Player said he looks forward to Friday's game and likes the way his team played the Skyhawks Wednesday.

"It was the best team match we have played all year," Player said. "From the opening whistle, we challenged every ball and put pressure on Hammond.  It was a great team effort!"

The victory put Heathwood into a tie with Hammond who beat the Highlanders 2-1 earlier in the season.

Player said he hopes his team can carry their momentum into Friday's match and play as hard as they have been.
