Jerrell Parrish, who will be a 16-year-old junior at DeMatha this coming fall, is a resident of Glenn Dale, Maryland, in Prince George's County and an excellent Junior golfer.
A 3.2 student, Parrish began playing golf when he was 11, and learned quickly from there. By age 12, Parrish had begun to play with other elite Junior players on the Mid-Atlantic tour.
Last year, as a DeMatha sophomore, Parrish placed fourth overall in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Tournament and third in the private schools state tournament, held in the pouring rain at The Congressional Country Club in Bethesda.
Parrish recently placed third in the Bill Dickey Invitational at the Disney Palm Golf Course in Orlando, Fla., where he met the namesake of a tournament that featured some of the nation's premiere, young African American golfers.
Parrish has received lessons from legendary golfer, Calvin Peete, a former Professional Golfer's Association player and a Ryder Cup member in 1984 and 1985.
Parrish also has met tour pro Jim Furyk, a top 10 player who is among the favorites to win this weekend's Congressional Golf Classic in Bethesda.
