Last night in WCAC volleyball play, Bishop Ireton (1-2) defeated Elizabeth Seton 25-20, 25-14, 26-28, 26-24. Senior Delia Chandler led the Cardinals with 12 kills and 6 aces. Courtney Connaughton contributed 7 kills and 4 aces while Mia Thomas kicked in 8 kills and 1 ace. Katherine Boyd had a season high 29 assists along with 2 aces.

The Cardinal started fast by taking the first two sets 25-20 and 25-14 by the strength of Delia's hitting. After being edged by Elizabeth Seton in set 3 by the slimmest of margins, the Cardinals roared back to take the final set 26-24 behind Allison Swiger's 3 aces and 1 kill.

The Cardinal JV team blitzed the Roadrunners in two straight, continuing their unbeaten streak to three games an six matches. The freshmen found their first match a tougher row to hoe, falling to Trinity at Meadow View 25-7, 25-15 at Godley Gym.

Bishop Ireton Volleyball travels to Roanoke, Virginia for the Nothrcross tournament this weekend.
