Ashburn (May 19, 2009) - It has been a banner year for Broad Run High School in athletics from a state tiitle in football to a district title in boys basketball to a spring with six district titles out of 10 sports.

A major reason for the success was celebrated Tuesday morning at the latest college signing for Spartan athletes ... this time with nine athletes total.

There were football players (Shawn Lewis, Kenny McAdow, Kevin Sandersen, Tim Miscovich), competitive cheerleaders (Mandy Moore, Lianne Arundel, Tori Marshall) as well as a baseball player (Chris Jessop) and softball player (Reagan Doiron).

Lewis and Sandersen are headed to Salisbury while Miscovich will play at Bryant and McAdow at Northeastern. Jessop also played football but has signed to play baseball at Flagler. Doiron will play softball at George Mason. And Moore and Marshall will cheer at Virginia Tech while Arundel is headed for the sunny climate of Hawaii Pacific.
