Senior guard Kevin Seker and junior Aaron Dunn each scored 16 points as Marriotts Ridge High remained in a tie for first with a 64-52 victory over Glenelg in a Howard County boys' basketball contest Wednesday.

The Mustangs (9-1 league, 11-2 overall) are tied with Atholton, which defeated Long Reach Wednesday in a match of first-place squads, and Howard, a winner over Centennial Wednesday. Marriotts Ridge outscored Glenelg, 23-5, from the free throw line to snap the Gladiators' four-game winning streak.

Bruce Richardson had a game-high 19 points to lead Glenelg (6-7, 5-5), and Tommy Osbourne added 11. Glenelg will host Wilde Lake Friday in league play while Marriotts Ridge travels to Hammond, which took the Mustangs to overtime last Friday before falling, 85-81.

Howard 57, Centennial 49

MacGyver Biniak scored 19 points, and senior Brian Eads added 10, leading Howard High to a 57-49 victory over Centennial in Ellicott City.

The Lions (9-4, 9-1) remain tied for first in the league with Atholton, which routed Long Reach Wednesday, and Marriotts Ridge. Marriotts Ridge defeated Glenelg Wednesday.

Junior guard Brandon Adams led all scorers with 21 points for Centennial (5-9, 4-6), and junior guard Tanodrio Bogues added 11. The Eagles will host Atholton Friday evening in league action while Howard travels to Oakland Mills.
