Marcus Lewis saw Marriotts Ridge go from 4-18 in 2006-07 to 18-5 and a No. 2 seeding in the Class 2A state South Region tournament this past season. Lewis is DigitalSports' Howard County co-Coach of the Year.
Al Moraz has taken Long Reach to two of the last three Class 3A state championship games at Comcast Center. Moraz, DigitalSports' co-Coach of the Year for Howard County, is 68-11 in three seasons at the Columbia school.

Player of the Year
Obi Ukwuoma, Long Reach, 6-4, Sr., forward: Led Lightning to Howard County championship and Class 3A state title game. Averaged 16.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists a game. Will play in the Maryland vs. Pennsylvania All-Star game in Harrisburg March 29 and Charm City Challenge preliminary game April 6 at Towson Center.
Co-Coaches of the Year
Marcus Lewis, Marriotts Ridge and Al Moraz, Long Reach: Lewis guided Mustangs to 18-4 mark in his program's second varsity season, and was in contention for Howard County title game until final week of regular season. In his third season, Moraz guided Lightning to second Howard County title and 3A state finals. After back-to-back losses in January including an embrassing 30-point home loss to Atholton, Long Reach rolled off 15 straight victories before losing in state title game.
First team
Chris Baker, Hammond, 6-0, Jr., guard: Lone underclassmen on first team, Baker was headache for opposing defenses. Led Howard County in scoring (21.5) and averaged 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.9 steals for Bears.
Anthony Jones, Atholton, 6-5, Sr., center: Averaged 12.5 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots for Raiders, who reached 3A East Region semifinals. Will play in Maryland vs. Pennsylvania All-Star game March 29.
Jonathan Moore, Howard, 6-5, Sr., forward: Helped keep Lions in contention for berth in Howard County championship game until end of regular season. Averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists for Howard, which lost to Howard County champ and eventual state finalist Long Reach in 3A East Region semifinals.
Bill Reybold, Reservoir, 6-6, Sr., center: Averaged 21.3 points and a county-best 12.9 rebounds for Gators. Became the first 1,000-point scorer in the six-year history of the Fulton school.
Bruce Richardson, Glenelg, 6-3, Sr., forward: Maryland-Pennsylvania All-Star game participant averaged 18.7 points, six rebounds and two block for Gladiators. Finished 10th in school history with 324 rebounds and 11th in scoring (697 points)
Kevin Seker, Marriotts Ridge, 6-2, Sr., guard: Was driving force behind Mustangs going from 4-18 to 18-5 this season. Averaged 21.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists, and had five 30-point plus performances. Will play in Maryland vs. Pennsylania All-Star game in Harrisburg.
