Mills Godwin won its third straight Colonial District title, but never in this fashion.

The Eagles crushed nemesis Deep Run in games three and four 25-13 en route to the hardware Thursday at Hermitage High School.

Maggie Murphy was the chief culprit, dropping in 17 kills and 23 digs. Meghan Meleski registered 37 assists and 10 digs, and Jill Sedlar came up huge with 10 kills from the outside.

Maddie Wood (15 digs) and Emily Rebuck (18 digs) played trademark defense in back to keep Deep Run's offense off balance.

"When we played them the first time we came out flat the first two games," Godwin coach Jason Garrett said. "I don't know what it was, but they started to play really good volleyball.

"When we get that roll going you just can't stop this team."

Atlee will try to stop the Eagles in the Central Region quarterfinals Monday at Atlee at 7 p.m.

Meanwhile, Deep Run will host Hanover in the quarters looking to bounce back. Mallory Woolridge (13 kills, 17 digs, five blocks) had a fantastic outing, especially in the first game won by Deep Run 28-26.

Chaney LaReau (12 kills, 18 digs) and Ashley Dintaman (23 assists, 17 digs) also put up good numbers, but it was Godwin's night.
