Kevin Beck pinned Evan Peck at 3:03 of their 103-pound bout, clinching Tuesday night's 37-33 Howard County League dual meet victory at Marriotts Ridge for Atholton with one bout left to be wrestled.

Beck's fall followed a 61-second pin by his county and regional champion teammate, Brian Nance (285), giving the Raiders (3-0 overall, 3-0 league) an insurmountable, 37-27 lead, and off-setting a pin by the Kyle Marvin (112) of the Mustangs (9-2, 1-2) in the night's final match.

Beck's win marked the second time of the evening during which he clinched a win for his Raiders. Beck's earlier, 9-1 major decision over Cameron Kirby had turned a 39-33, Atholton lead into a 43-33 victory.

Also winning for the Raiders were county and regional runner-up Malcolm Stennett (189) by pin, Kyle Werner (145) by major decision, Matt Benecky (125), Doug Carpenter (152) and Dono James (160) by decision, and Adam D'Amico (130) by injury default.

Regional champ Jae Kim (215) of the Mustangs edged county and regional runner-up, Mike Massarrelli of the Raiders, 3-1, in the premiere bout of the Atholton-Marriotts Ridge dual meet.

Masserrelli, engaging in his first night of wrestling since suffering a broken left fibia during the seventh week of his football season, had earlier in the evening, caught and pinned River Hill's Jake Pace with a , tenth of a second left in the second period of what had been a tight match.

Pace, whose Hawks defeated the Mustangs, 42-25, edged Kim, 7-6, on a reversal with seven seconds left in their bout.

The Mustangs also received pins from Stephen Oltjen (119), David Bisacre (135) and Chris Trainer (140),  and led, 24-19, with five bouts left, as well as, 27-25, with three bouts left.
