Troy Cummings added 17 points for McDonough, which built a 15-point halftime advantage on the No. 6 seed Hawks (14-10). Phil Ashtianie scored 12 points to lead River Hill, which defeated McDonough at home in December.

Junior guard Devon Saddler added 19 points for Aberdeen, which led 42-30 at halftime. Tandorio Bogues led Centennial (11-13) with 18 points and Marcos Ocadiz had 12.

Marriotts Ridge's breakthrough season ended with a thud as Delante Hester's 22 points and six rebounds helped North Point to an overtime decision in a 2A South Region quarterfinal in Marriottsville.
Kevin Seker had a game-high 28 points for the Mustangs (18-5), and freshman guard Nick Doolin added 21. The Mustangs trailed 40-31 at halftime before pulling even by the end of regulation. Jaris Alleyne had 18 points for North Point (9-15), which travels to McDonough Thursday for the semifinals.

Obi Ukwuoma had a triple double with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists as Howard County champ and No. 12 Long Reach began its state title pursuit with a 3A East Region quarterfinal romp of Bel Air. The Lightning (22-2) will host Howard, a 54-49 quarterfinal victor over Wilde Lake Tuesday, in the semifinals Thursday evening.
Junior forwards Mario Lloyde and Julius Fambro each added 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the Lightning, who extended their winning streak to 12 games. Donn Hill led Bel Air (14-9) with 19 points, and Lionel Perkins had 15.

Guard Antonio Wright led all scorers with 22 points for Meade, which knocked off Reservoir, 71-55, in the opening round Saturday. The Raiders, seeded third, defeated Annapolis in their opening round match Friday evening in Columbia.

Chris Cole led Wilde Lake (4-18) with a game-high 19 points. The Lions, who defeated Long Reach during the regular season, led 33-20 at halftime against the Wildecats Tuesday.
