Ashburn (Dec. 29, 2008) - The second annual DigitalSports.com Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament was held at Briar Woods High School tonight. In game one Edison defeated Handley 62-36 and in game two Briar Woods defeated Fauquier 45-40.
Edison was led by Myisha Goodwin who scored a game high 25 points. Freshman Christine Dua helped her team with 11 points and Kierra Graham scored 9. Click here for postgame interview with Edison Coach Dianne Lewis.
In game two Briar Woods Falcons came away with a win over the Falcons of Fauquier County. Kim Bell led the way with a 20 point, 20 rebound night. Syndey Harris added 5 points and 4 rebounds. Carly Firestone and Erica Kiechlin added 4 points each, as did Freshman Macy Jones (playing up from JV). Click here for postgame interview with Briar Woods Coach Dave Morris.
