The weather once again holds the grim news for Howard County baseball, as the 1-5 Howard Lions will not host the 6-1 Atholton Raiders today. It will instead be played this Saturday, April 18 at 10 in the morning.
The Lions, who went 13-4 in the season before, have had early struggles, losing their first four and sitting at the bottom of the division with a 1-5 mark. Their lone victory came in a 10-0 shutout over the Oakland Mills Scorpions (0-6). Howard's Doug Rohrbaugh allowed one hit and struck out nine to get the win.
Sophomore Joe Yarn notched the only Scorpion hit on the day with a double, but they could not muster a single run. Defensively, Oakland Mills committed seven errors on the day, and Howard capitalized with seven runs in the bottom of the second.
Glenelg will be the site for the Atholton Raider's next game when they take on the 4-2 Gladiators tomorrow at 4:15.
