The boys roster for the 2009 Indiana All-Stars has been released by the Indianapolis Star. West Lafayette coach David Wood, assisted by Hauser’s Bob Nobbe and Mart Gaff of Kouts, will lead the All-Stars in their annual two-game series versus Kentucky in June.
Twelve of the 13 players have made their college choices, led by Indiana University-bound Mr. Basketball Jordan Hulls of Bloomington South. The 6-foot senior guard will be joined next year in Bloomington by 6’9” Tipton standout Derek Elston, tied for tallest player on the all-star squad with Louisville recruit Stephan Van Treese of Lawrence North.
Another pair of stars will be heading to Purdue next year: 6’5” North Montgomery forward D.J. Byrd and 6’8” Franklin Central center Patrick Bade. Three other stars will also be playing college ball within the state’s borders: 6’2” Jake Odum of Terre Haute South (Indiana State), 6’3” Matt Kenney of Mooresville (Valparaiso), and 6’5” Colt Ryan of Batesville (Evansville).
The All-Stars will face the Junior All-Star team in a pair of exhibition games June 9 and 11.
