Playing Time

Fact
:
Only eleven players from each team can be on the field at a time.  For many the  dream of becoming a professional football play begins at an early age. Television and newspapers bombard us with players, games and  highlights.  This vision ignites a spark in many a young boy.  He begins to play in youth football or middle school.  Many guys are similar sized, the collisions are not as drastic, and everybody plays some.  At the JV level, size differences become more drastic, the impact of collisions increase, but everybody gets to play some, not equally, but game time.  At the Varsity level it is our best against their best.  Some will play and some won't but all are part of the TEAM.

Varsity:

The varsity team is made up of those players, in the coach’s view, who are the best available football players.  A major emphasis is still on the fundamentals of the game. At this level winning is a factor. We want our players to learn competitiveness and learn to deal with both success and failure. We believe these skills will prove to be very valuable throughout their life.

Junior Varsity:

The junior varsity is made up of players who are freshmen, sophomores and juniors.  Some of these players may see time at both the JV and Varsity level.  The role of this program is to develop and allow players to mature physically, mentally, or emotionally.  All players will get the opportunity to play provided they make practices and work hard. Playing time will be determined in practice and how well the individual learns the individual and team skills.

7th and 8th grade Football:

Major emphasis is to introduce the athlete to football and learn fundamentals and concepts of the game. We are looking for committed, hardworking players with positive attitudes.
