INDIAN CREEK CAPTURES FIRST MIAA WIN |
| Breaking into the win column is never easy in the MIAA, especially for a young program playing its first season in the Association. On Tuesday, however, Indian Creek edged Towson Catholic in MIAA C Conference action, to claim its first ever MIAA victory in any sport. The Eagles, who opened their season with an 8-0 non-conference victory of Wye River, had since lost four straight in conference play, surrendering an average of more than 9 goals per game. Against TC, however, the Eagle defense came to play, with sweeper Julius Smith leading the way and junior goalkeeper Peter Barry stopping 10 shots. In addition, defenders Wes Anderson and Jack Brennan both made kick saves. Offensively, senior captain James Kriz scored a goal and added an assist and Brennan, a sophomore, netted the other goal. |
