Attica pulls away at the end in getting third conference win of the year

Attica celebrated Homecoming with a 67-54 victory over Riverton Parke Friday on Jan. 11. The win improved the Ramblers to 3-1 in Wabash River Conference play.
Attica's 6-6 senior center Joe Collison was not only crowned Homecoming King at halftime, but also scored a game-high 22 points for the Ramblers as they pulled away in the fourth quarter.
The game was close throughout as Attica led 14-11 after one quarter and 28-23 at the half.
The Panthers came back to tie the game at 31 midway through the third quarter and the game would be tied four more times before Attica scored the final five points of the quarter to take a 46-41 lead into the fourth.
Each time the Panther threatened to come back, Attica answered with a score of its own until the Ramblers pulled away by outscoring Riverton Parke 13-3 in the last three minutes of the contest.
Seth Rooze added 15 for Attica while Zach Little scored 11, Devin Foster scored nine while Gavin Gilmore scored six.
Five Panthers scored all of the Riverton Parke points led by Josh Wilson with 15, David Frink, Grant Mitchell and Jarrid McLaughlin with 10 each, and Eric Vaughn added nine on three 3-pointers.
Riverton Parke (5-7, 2-2 in WRC) plays Tuesday at Paris (Ill.). With this win and another win on Saturday against North Newton, Attican improves to 5-6 on the season and 3-1 in conference play. Next up for Attica is a trip to Seeger on Jan. 18.
