Friends' varsity indoor soccer team defeated A conference rival Roland Park 6-1 in the first game of a double header at Perring Athletic Club on Thursday.  

Flannery McArdle scored three goals and added two assists to lead the Quakers (4-2).  Liza Herzog scored the first goal for Friends eight minutes into the game and the Quakers took an early lead that they would never lose.

Later in the first half, McArdle scored her first goal with 7:56 to play.  Two minutes later, McArdle assisted on a goal by Sophia Dagnello at the 5:55 mark.  

Friends controlled the ball for the better part of the game and goalie Alexis Bond made 11 saves to help the Quakers.

In the second half, McArdle scored two goals and assisted on another by scored Kyla Minton to hand Friends the win.

The lone score for the Reds (0-4) came on a goal by Kenny Likes that was assisted by Danielle Eppler with 3:00 minutes left in the game.  Friends’ goalie Cameron McCless made 21 saves.

In the second game at Perring AC, Institute of Notre Dame slipped by Notre Dame Prep 4-3 in a closely contested A conference game. 

The Blazers (2-1-1) started the scoring with a Laura Delasio goal on a penalty kick three minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead.

Notre Dame Prep held the lead until Sabrina Mullaney scored the first of her three goals for IND at the 10 minute mark in the first half to tie the game at 1-1.

With 5:16 left in the first half, Mara Hauf scored to give IND (5-0) its first lead at 2-1.  

The Blazers quickly answered on a Sam Myrick goal assisted by Delasio and tied the game at 2-2 with 1:50 left in the half.  

Mullaney responded and scored her second goal of the game off of a rebounded shot 40 seconds later to break another tie.  The Indians took a 3-2 lead into the half.

In the second half, the NDP had a man-advantage and capitalized on a goal by Jess Szczawinski and tied the game at 3-3.

The contest had three ties and three lead changes before Mullaney scored what would prove to be the game-winning goal with 12:30 left to play on a two-on-one breakaway with Dani Sloman. 

The Blazers split time between two goalies.  In the first half, Amy Scheel made five saves and in the second, Rebecca Guthrie made seven stops for NDP. 

Lauren Vetock was in goal for the Indians and made 19 saves.
