Archbishop Spalding and St. Paul's are top two seeds for IAAM A volleyball tournament

| Defending champ Archbishop Spalding High School has the No. 1 seed for the IAAM A Conference volleyball playoffs which starts Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers will host either John Carroll or McDonogh School in a quarterfinal match Monday afternoon. St. Paul's School is the No. 2 seed, and will play either St. Mary's or Institute of Notre Dame in Monday's quarterfinal round. The other quarterfinal games Monday will feature Chapelgate Christian at St. Vincent Pallotti and Seton Keough traveling to third-seed Mount de Sales. The semifinals will be on Halloween afternoon at the higher seed at 4:15 p.m. The finals will be Nov. 3 at Villa Julie College. The Patriots went 2-2 on the road in league play while McDonogh won once in six home games against IAAM competition. No. 10 St. Mary's at No. 7 Institute of Notre Dame, 4:15 p.m. IND opened league play with a four-game triumph over the Saints in September. St. Mary's will try to avoid a winless campaign in the league. Quarterfinals, Monday Oct. 29 No. 5 Chapelgate at No. 4 Pallotti, 4:15 p.m. The Panthers swept Chapelgate last week on the road. The Yellow Jackets only road loss in league play was to Mount de Sales. No. 6 Seton Keough at No. 3 Mount de Sales, 4:15 p.m. Coming off loss to St. Paul's, Mount de Sales swept Seton Keough Oct. 6, starting a six-game winning streak.
