James River defeated host Monacan 4-0 on Tuesday night.
The Rapids, ranked No. 6 in the DigitalSports Top 10, led only 1-0 after the first half but scored three more in the second half.
The loss is the fourth-ranked Chiefs first loss of the season.
Junior midfielder Garrett Dayton scored two goals for James River.
The other two goals came from junior midfielder Mitch Mori and senior forward Jack Baxter.
James River now improves their record to 4-2 in the Dominion District and 5-2 overall while Monacan drops to 3-1, 5-1.
