James River, ranked fourth in the final DigitalSports Top 10, defeated L.C. Bird 3-2 in Tuesday night's Dominion District girls soccer semifinals.

Dominion District Player of the Year Erin Liberatore of James River scored a hat trick to give the Rapids the win.

The Skyhawks put up a big fight, as the game went into halftime tied 1-1.

In the second half, James River jumped on top again with another Liberatore goal to put the Rapids up 2-1.

James River was not up for long.

L.C. Bird continued to battle back and came up with an equalizer to even the score at 2.

In the end, James River proved to be too much for the Skyhawks as Liberatore scored her third goal of the match advancing her team to the finals where they will meet Cosby.

The Titans and James River met twice this season, each coming out with a win.

Cosby defeated James River in their first meeting 2-1 and the Rapids gave Cosby their first loss of the season at Cosby 3-2 in their second meeting.
