REACHING HIGHER TOP 100 SELECTION COMMITTEE
The Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan & the MHSAA are seeking BCAM Members to participate in the Reaching Higher Top 100 Showcase Selection Committee.
Duties include the following:
· Responsible for the selection of underclass players in the BCAM Region that they will represent [see BCAM Region Map [http://photos.digitalsports.com/846418/BCAMRegionMap.pdf]
· Use resources to determine whether nominated players in their region are one of the top 140 players [Top 100 and 40 Alternates] in the state of Michigan. Resources include contacting coaches, watching game film of players, contacting BCAM Regional Representatives, etc.
· Nominating top players from your region to the MHSAA Office by February 2, 2009.
· Contact the Top 100 Players and 40 Alternates in your region via phone to inform them of their status. Committee members must report back to the MHSAA Office on the status of players from their region.
· Attend all Reaching Higher Top 100 Selection Meetings
o February 15th [Sunday] Meeting in Lansing @ 12:00 Noon. We will select the Top 100 Players and 40 Alternates at this meeting.
o March 21st [Women] or March 28th [Men] Meeting to place Top 100 Players on a Showcase Team. Women’s meeting will take place at Eastern Michigan University, while the men’s meeting will take place at Michigan State University.
Coaches selected to the Reaching Higher Top 100 Selection Committee must have the following requirements:
· Varsity Coaching Experience
· BCAM Member
· In “good standing” with the Michigan High School Athletic Association
· In “good standing” with the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan
